What a really great concept of something large we do on a small scale while thinking, siting in a dirty diner, shower, or car…or is that just me again?

» Makeup Show and Tell at MBB

Are we the only ones who love to play with cosmetics and take a picture of our work?   Why should we have all the fun?

Before & After pictures.  Your personal makeup stash pictures.  Cosmetic Expression.  Big night out.

We would love to see them, and you might get an opportunity to have a post of your pic at MBB.  Send them to my email account:  jen hill at mythbuster beauty dot com, and give a brief description of your look.

I wish I didn’t have to state this, but, keep them clean.  MBB is a “G” or possibly a “PG” rated site, and I wish to keep it that way.

Big hugs to all of you!  Jen ;)

» Traveling: Part II

Staying at hotels is expensive for someone on my kind of budget. Sure, the amenities can be nice, as well as the room and cleaning services, but I find that nothing really compares to being a house guest with friends or family when I travel. The company are people that I love and care for, and I get to really make myself at home. Here are some tips on being a good house-guest.

1. Make your own travel arrangements. Of course, check in with your host to schedule a convenient arrival time if they are picking you up from the station or terminal, but do not expect them to place or confirm your reservations.

2. Don’t bring uninvited guests. Even if you are only staying one hour or one night, if there is the need to bring an extra person (spouse, friend, child, or pet!) call your host and inform them so that they can prepare.

3. Keep your room clean. Your host is not your maid. It is polite and expected that you make your bed, fold your towels, and leave things as you found them, if not in a better, cleaner condition.

4. Offer to help with any cooking or clean-up.

5. Consider giving a gift. After all, by staying with them, you’ve saved hundreds on hotel bills. Some examples: Guest towels or soaps, set of breakfast china, a table or dinner bell, kitchen utensils, place card holders and cards, coasters, napkin set with holders, bar glasses, bed trays, or monogrammed paper napkins.
