» #3. Washing
Now it’s no secret that a Teenager’s skin care is a serious issue because most of the skin problems occur during the early teenage due to the hormonal changes. Skin problems can be in the form of acne, blackheads, shingles and side effects of UV sunrays. Becca has been no different to any other 13 year old in suffering from this. Granted, that her skin has got better but why do teenagers have an adverse affect to washing! At some points in the last year it even got to the point of Becca doing the Facial Waltz - the waving of hands 2 inches from the face in up and down irratic patterns but without touching the skin. Bizzare!
Dad’s Tip ~ You can’t beat good old fashioned soap and water. You just need to supervise it! You can spend all your well earned dollars on all sorts of creams and lotions but do they really work? Are any of them any better than an overpriced snake oil? Do you really want to be wiping your face with blended buffalo intestine beacuse it’s meant to have anti-aging properties? Many do….
Becca says ~ See below lol. I say no more!
While acne may traditionally be viewed as a teenage “rite of passage,” results from a groundbreaking national survey released show that acne is a problem that also commonly affects adults. The survey finds that acne can negatively impact many aspects of a person’s life — professional, academic, physical and social — and a basic lack of knowledge may be preventing or hindering appropriate treatment options.

No comments» What a difference a key makes
When my old iMac had to be fixed, because I had extended Apple Care Warrantee, Apple simply replaced the whole unit. Because I was living in the US at the time, however, the keyboard was localised to the American layout, as opposed to the British one I had learned to type on since I was 11.
The difference? Well - this might sound like the smallest nit picking thing in the history of small nit picking things, but the Return (Enter) key isn’t the odd shape I’m used to, and the 3 key has a hash (#) on it, instead of the Pounds Sterling (£) symbol.
Confusion further sets in when, like me, you have the Operating System language set to British English, because then the keys you want, like quotation marks (”) and asperand (@) are swapped over, but still printed on the keys where you want them to be.
Well, after a while, I just got used to it - and for the sake of not wanting to unpack lots of boxes which it was easier upon my return to the UK to just throw in the attic, I stuck with the American format keyboard - until now.
Fast forward to this morning. I’m going through a load of boxes in an attempt to throw out old memories and make room for a new book stand and bed in my room. I’ve had the bed for a while but it was crow-barred in and it all needed sorting out. Hey, what’s this? Ah ha! My ‘old’ British English keyboard! I’ll plug it in!
Oh oh! I can’t write anything! The keys are in the way? What’s that all about? It turns out that even the slightest of changes to the way keys are laid out can massively affect the usability of a keyboard. I have had to ditch the British format and switch back to the US type, just to get this written inside 2 or 3 days.
See for yourself the ridiculously minor changes which make all the difference, in the pic below. I’ve included my old Perspex Apple keyboard to compare the changes in the size of the ‘Return’ key. I should, in the interest of clarity, point out that it remains as clean as the day it was new, despite my being an ex-smoker, because - thanks to a brilliant piece of advice from Leo Laporte, I washed it in the dishwasher and, he’s right, they do come up a treat - and YES it still works.
No comments» Telling A Man By
Well you know that with women you have to keep lists. These are some of the responses to how you can tell a man:
1. How he keeps his car, it describes how his cleaning habits are and their importance. It doesn’t matter if it’s a hooptie or a benz, if it cleans that’s how he’ll keep himself up.
2. His emotional responses to current issues in the world.
3. The way he holds a conversation (it’s the small things!!)
I can’t stand “u know what i’m saying!!!” (NO I DON’T)
4. If he keeps his fingernails clean!
5. The television shows he watches.
6. Where he spends his Saturday nights ( out at the club, home balancing his checkbook or at home preparing for tomorrow morning services.
7. His ability to say I love you at any time or in the presence of all.
8. His ability to respect you as a person and not just as the other half in a relationship.
10 How he deals with life’s minor challenges — men who are in the habit of applying creativity to small challenges instead of complaints generally handle larger challenges the same way.
11 How he treats the most vulnerable people in his sphere of influence/authority. It is said that a nation is only as good as it treats its most vulnerable citizens; a man can be judged by the same standard, and should be, considering that any man’s woman, no matter how formidable she may be, will be at her most physically, emotionally, and possibly financially vulnerable if she carries her man’s child, and the child for some years will be completely helpless.
11) Does the Brotha..give you all his reachable , workable phone numbers..lol..His real ones..
12) How he acts around his friends…(and does he even have friends,or is he a loner who whines about people all the time..can’t connect well with his own male peers, let alone the ladies..)
13) What his friends say about him
14)The Proverbial Battle of the Sexes ..The Boys vs The Girl..Does he talk or act in balance..i.e..Is he sounding/acting like he’s willing to balance time out with His Boys and Time with any girlfriend, he may want into his life.
15)His Ex girlfriends (blame them for everything)
16) A Sportsaholic..or is there some balance..Time/Attention made for a women to be in his life..game time or not..season finale’s or not..or will his women be a sports widow..sort of speak..lol..
17) If the guy is pretty active in the community, organizations and say frat “stuff”…See Above..will he still find time..shoot..SPACE.. to let you get in and FIT in…or is he just already “eating off a full plate” of OTHER things going on in his life..
18) If divorced or coming out of a long term relationship..How vulnerable..or tainted..or bitter is/was he..or is he very cavalier(sp) and non-chalant about it..or just reasonably, “sadden/or some emotion ” about it..but not a blamer..fault finder..scapegoater..Innocent one…
19) If he shacked up or long termed with someone via marraige or non-shacked up but long term..then…How long (may show he is at least willing to be in a somewhat committed, hopefully monogamous agreement/relationship with another chick..not a Hit or Miss type brotha’..but some experience with setting some ‘roots”…
20) How prompt is he, how reliable/dependable, honest is he sounding or acting….Does he do what he says and say what he doe?…Is his word his bond??
21) His relationship with his FATHER…or lack there of….
22) SOMETIMES but not always a true indicator of a “man’s worth”…But..type of job he has in correlation to his age (how old is he,is he still at his teenage afterschool job like Burger King and ish..at 40??)…
23) NOT ON A FIRST ENCOUNTER BUT OVER “GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER” TIME…
24) His views on kids, abortion, BC responsibility/accountability, single parenting, marraige, shacking up, pets, cars, drugs and eventually…politics and religion
25) Life crisis;Your mate becomes disabled or DX’d with a chronic condition..will you stay or go??..cheat or remain faithful..??
