» Getting resourceful when stories slow
Since I didn’t get much from my editor at The Fort Pierce Tribune at the beginning of the week, I’ve been making money outside of journalism - and making much more than what I get for freelancing.
In addition to some house cleaning, I was paid for a day of babysitting. Luckily they are the kids I spent last summer babysitting and are the cutest and most well-behaved siblings. I’ve made good money in a short amount of time, but my back aches from cleaning floors and my legs are tired from hide-and-go-seek in my big yard.
The busier I am, the better. I kept my slow news days occupied by finding other means of work, but these next two days will be crunch time for two stories.
More to come on that after a good night’s sleep.

This morning when leaving for work I got ready, went up the flights of stairs, traversed across the parking lot, got in my car, started the engine, then paused…had I put on deodorant? After a dainty dab of the armpit with my fingertip I then walked all the way back to my apartment and deodorized.
So if you see me today, appreciate the lengths I go to for you, and feel free to sniff my underarms.
